Your dish soap touches everything you eat off of 🍽️ And while it’s designed to wash away grease and food, some conventional dish soaps can contain ingredients I personally prefer to avoid. ❌ Undisclosed fragrance — “fragrance” can represent a mixture of multiple ingredients that aren’t individually disclosed on the label and may irritate sensitive skin. ❌ Ethoxylated ingredients — ingredients such as laureth compounds and PEGs can be manufactured using ethylene oxide, a process that can result in trace contamination with 1,4-dioxane if not properly controlled. ❌ Artificial dyes — completely unnecessary for getting your dishes clean. ❌ Harsh surfactants — certain cleaning agents can be irritating or drying to the skin, especially with frequent hand-washing. Since dish soap is something I use every single day on the plates, cups, utensils, and cookware my food touches, I prefer simpler options with ingredients I feel better about using.
